A Dover Man and a Magnolia man were arrested Friday following a traffic stop for an equipment violation.

Smyrna Police stopped a vehicle Friday at 9:31 p.m. on South DuPont Highway and Cory Lane for an equipment violation.

Police said as the officer spoke with the driver, the officer could smell a strong odor of suspected marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed suspected marijuana, "crack" cocaine and prescription pills with no valid prescription, police said.

Homer D. Cooper IV, 20, of Dover, was charged with possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and two traffic offenses.

Bremonte R. Palmer, 21, of Magnolia was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were presented at Justice of the Peace Court No. 7 via videophone and released on unsecured bonds pending a later court appearance.
