American-realist painter Denise Dumont has been commissioned to judge the Second Annual Dover Days Plein Air Paint Out and Quick Draw competitions at The Green on April 27 through May 5.
The event will be held in conjunction with the 80th Annual Dover Days Festival. Artists in the Plein Air Paint Out may choose to paint as many canvases as they wish during the competition through May 1. There will be $1,000 in cash and prizes awarded at the event. One painting by each artist will be exhibited at the Biggs Museum of American Art during the Dover Days weekend.
The optional event plein air Quick Draw is scheduled on Sunday, May 5 and another $1,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. Artists will have the opportunity to participate in a gallery show of their work during the summer.

Dumont received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design. She also studied at the School of Visual Arts.
Born in New York, Dumont spent her childhood on Long Island and her adult years in New York City until 2004. She was drawn to the coastal landscapes and cityscapes of the Mid-Atlantic region, and today resides in coastal Delaware. Her paintings are held in public and private collections throughout the country and abroad. She exhibits regularly and is represented by fine art galleries in the Mid-Atlantic region.
