  • Dover baseball downs Lake Forest; Lady Spartans cruise past Senators

  • After having their opener postponed due to weather, the Dover Senators finally got their season started on Thursday afternoon in a 10-0 victory over Lake Forest.
    The Senators struck for at least a run in every inning, pulling away with a 4-run 4th on way to the double-digit victory.
    Senior Kyle Mace led the way on the mound and at the plate for the Senators. Mace pitched a complete-game, giving up only 3 hits while striking out 7 in the win. Also, Mace hit two dingers knocking home 4 RBI in the process.
    Tyler Collins was the lone standout for Lake Forest, doubling for the Spartans for one of their 3 hits on the afternoon.

    Lake Forest 12, Dover 2
    The Lady Spartans struck for 9 runs in the first three innings, cruising to a 12-2 win over Dover on Thursday afternoon.
    Gabi Cubbage led the way for the Spartans tallying 3 hits and 3 RBI for Lake Forest. Destiny Thomson and Colby Wyatt all had 3 hits for the Spartans in the win.
    Colby Wyatt took the win on the mound for Lake Forest. Kat Betts came in relief, her and Wyatt combined for 9 strikeouts.
