Season Outlook: After a 9-6 finish last season, The Dover Senators look for even more improvement this season. With a good mixture of returning standouts and contributing underclassmen, Dover looks to improve upon last year’s mark in hopes of competing in the Henlopen Conference this season.

Nickname: Riders

2012-2013 Record: 15-0

Head Coach: Darrell Gravatt

Key Returning Players: Alexis Prillaman, Alexa Faulmino, Shelby Warren, Janiah Moore, Allison Hollinger, Kessy Stevens, Grace Wilt, Rebekah Ramsey, Tatiana Marshall, Rachel Smith

Season Outlook: After falling in double-OT to Padua 2-1 in last year’s State Championship, the Rider return to the pitch perhaps even stronger than last season. The Lady Riders boast an impressive group of returning standouts including 1st Team All-State/All-Conference player and Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, Alexis Prillaman. Along with Prillaman are Alexa Faulmino and Shelby Warren both of whom received 1st Team All-State and All-Conference honors. Janiah Moore, Allison Hollinger, Kessy Stevens, Grace Wilt, Rebekah Bernat and Cassidy Ramsey, all returning All-Conference players, round out the impressive Riders squad. With contributions from newcomers Alyssa Imprescia, Jen Jackson, Leah Wells, Aleya and Cowan Cummings, and Haley Prillaman, the Riders look to once again be a force in the state.

Nickname: Panthers

2012-2013 Record: 9-3-3

Head Coach: Dan Simmons

Key Returning Players: Sarah Hyde, Bridget Hartigan, Jessica Garrison, Megan Garrison, Michelle Kimmick, Rebecca McCutcheon, Amanda Taylor

Season Outlook: A 9-3-3 season for the Panthers last season was good enough to earn them a berth into the State Tournament. Unfortunately, they fell to Charter 2-0 in the first round. This season, the Panthers return looking to get back to the tournament and hoping to stick around a little longer this time around.

School: Lake Forest High School

Nickname: Spartans

2012-2013 Record: 3-12

Head Coach: Vince Davis

Key Returning Players: Marissa Guallpa, Morgan Gannon, Shannon Sussman

Season Outlook: After a disappointing 3-12 season last year for the Lake Forest Girls Soccer squad, they return for a new campaign looking to turn things around. With several standouts returning, including Marrissa Guallpa, Morgan Gannon and Shannon Sussman, the Spartans have a core to build around this season. Kristin Bailey, Kori Johnson and Alyssa Santore are just a few of the newcomers who Head Coach Vince Davis and his staff hope to build around their returning players. With a fresh start and a new attitude, the Spartans hope to improve upon last year’s finish and begin the challenge of competing in the Henlopen Conference.

From the Coach: “We’re looking to improve upon last year’s record,” said Lake Forest Head Coach Vince Davis. “Try and move up in our final standings in the Southern Division, and overall improvement of our team play.”

School: St. Thomas More High School

Nickname: Ravens

2012-2013 Record: 10-5

Head Coach: Sharon Lapinsky

Key Returning Players: Danielle Gallagher, Elizabeth Stant, Alexa Schimp, Jasmine White, Mary Mannion, Caroline Eliassen, Cali Echeverri

Season Outlook: After an impressive 10-5 finish and a first round victory in the DIAA State Tournament last season, the Lady Ravens return this season looking to improve upon last year’s season. With 7 returning players from last year’s squad, the Ravens hope their core can replace some of the standouts they lost to graduation last season. With contributions from some underclassmen, the Ravens should once again contend in the Diamond Conference and are in the discussion when it comes to State Tournament talk.
