Inclement weather has forced the closing of the Kent County SPCA for Monday, March 25.

The Kent County SPCA has decided to close to the public March 25 due to the inclement weather. This decision is not made lightly, said shelter managers, but is taking into account the safety of the staff, volunteers and members of the public who were planning on coming in to adopt.

Shelter officials said the animals will continue to get loving care, and will be ready for adoption when the shelter opens on March 26.

Delaware Animal Care and Control can still be reached for animal emergencies only at 302-698-3006 (option 1 at main menu). Shelter managers ask for patience as there will be longer transit times due to road conditions.
