  • Hornets earn second seed in MEAC Bowling Championship

  • The Delaware State women’s bowling team posted a 4-1 record to earn the No. 2 seed in the 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament at AMF Lanes today. The Hornets had a total team pinfall of 4,772 to second the second seed in the eight-team tourney.
    Delaware State will take on Hampton in a best-of-seven Baker series on Saturday.
    Courtney Davis led Delaware State with a total pinfall of 1064 in five games (212.8 avg.). Davis had three 200-plus games, including a high of 243. She also posted scores of 224 and 215.
    Victoria Bush was second on the Hornets with a 1002 total pinfall (200.4 avg.), highlighted by a top game of 219.
    Two-time defending NCAA champ Maryland-Eastern Shore holds the No. 1 seed entering Saturday’s competition.
    The championship round will begin on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
