  • Delaware State Police are advising the public that a registered sex offender who has identified himself as being homeless is in the Dover area.
The man, identified as Hubert J. Peterson, 49, is not wanted for any crime, said police spokesman Cpl. John Day. However, since Peterson is homeless, police use the media to notify area residents as to his possible presence in the area.
Peterson is a black man who stands 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 252 pounds and has black hair and hazel eyes. He was convicted in 1999 of second-degree unlawful sexual conduct.
He is considered a Tier II sex offender.
Anyone with information that Peterson has established a residence is asked to call the Delaware State Police Sex Offender Unit at (302) 741-8085.
