  • Hartly woman charged with DUI

  • The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a single vehicle crash in which the operator was charged with DUI.

  • At around 1:10 a.m. on Sunday Monica L. Tegano was operating a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue eastbound on Halltown Road, just east of Brittney Lane, in Hartly. The failed to manuver a left turn and traveled off the south side of the roadway where she struck a mailbox and then an electrical pole. After impact with the pole, the car overturned numerous times before coming to a stop in a wooded area.
    Tegano, who was properly restrained, was removed from the vehicle by mechanical means before EMS transported her to Kent General Hospital, where she is being treated for unknown injuries. State police cited her for driving under the influence of alcohol, inattentive driving, failure to remain in a single lane, and no proof of insurance.
    Halltown Road east of Brittney Lane was closed for approximately two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
