  • A 66-year-old Felton-area man is facing criminal charges after being accused of inappropriately a 17-year-old boy over a nine-month period.
John J. Trenberth allegedly touched the teen inappropriately and made further sexual advances at his home in the 400 block of South Ember Drive, northeast of Felton, between June 2012 and January 2013.
Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack said the teen reported the incidents to police on Monday.
Following what Shavack called a “thorough and comprehensive” investigation, police arrested Trenbreth was Friday and charged him with two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual contact with a person younger than 18 and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Trenbreth was later released on a $12,500 unsecured bond and issued to have no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18, Shavack said.
