  • The Friends of Old Dover will host a presentation on Delaware and the Civil War titled "Delaware & the Civil War: A Political, Military and Social Perspective" on March 2, held at 2 p.m. at the Dover Public Library.
Sponsored by the Friends of Old Dover, local author Tom Ryan's presentation examines the Civil War from three different perspectives to gain a better understanding of the issues and circumstances that influenced Delaware's decision makers during this time period.
Ryan is the former president and current member of the Central Delaware Civil War Round Table, and a member of the Delaware Historical Society, Civil War Trust and the Gettysburg Foundation. He's published more than one hundred articles about the Civil War.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
The Friends of Old Dover is a nonprofit historic preservation society.
