James Henry Marshall, Sr. of Leipsic, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was 83.
Mr. Marshall was born on August 7, 1929, the son of the late James and Estella Marshall. He worked for many years for Willis Chevrolet in Smyrna, DE and for Suburban Propane of Dover, DE.
James was a lifetime member of the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as former Chief, current President, and also Fire Police.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports on TV, and was also a fan of country music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers; and 5 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Julia; 3 sons, James Jr., of Smyrna, Charles of Aiken, SC, and Harry of Leipsic; 2 daughters, Judy Clark of Bossier City, LA and Nancy Marshall of Magnolia, DE; 7 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his sister, Alice "Tootsie" Brown.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 10 am, in the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Hall, located at 318 Main Street, Leipsic.
Funeral services will begin at 12 noon.
Burial will be held in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Leipsic Volunteer Fire Co., 318 Main St., Leipsic, DE 19901.
