Police make an arrest after suspect in traffic stop was found to be driving on a suspended license and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Jesse Williams, of Dover was pulled over on Sunday, Feb. 10 by Cheswold Police for a traffic violation in the area of Route 13 and Twin Oak Lane.
After running a check on the 54-year-old, officers found that the he had an active warrant for traffic violations out of the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and a revoked license, Cheswold Police Chief Christopher Workman said. Williams was taken into custody without incident and a search of the 2000 Dodge Neon revealed a chrome .22 caliber Derringer handgun concealed in the center console with two rounds loaded in the handgun, he said.
Williams was processed and charged with possession, purchase or control of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, driving on a suspended or revoked license and a traffic violation.
Williams was held on $5,501 secured bail and transported to Vaughn Correctional for holding.
