On Saturday morning, the DIAA held the 2013 Indoor Track State Championships at the University of Delaware Field House in Newark, Del.

The Dover area was well represented, as the Caesar Rodney Riders boys team took home the State Title and the Dover Senators finished in second place.

The Lady Riders also had an impressive performance on Saturday, finishing 5th in the overall standings.

Caesar Rodney Riders

Boys – 1st Place

Girls – 5th Place

The Rider boys finished first in a field made up of 23 other schools in the state of Delaware. Members of the CR team were prevelant in nearly every event on Saturday.

Senior Adrian Trammell was just one of many Riders to see success on Saturday. Trammell finished first in the 55m and third in the 200m.

Juniors Austinio Brown and Daylakashawn McDonald also had impressive days for CR. Austinio finished second in the 200m and second behind Trammell in the 55m.

McDonald finished third behind Trammell and Brown in the 55m, while finishing seventh in the 200m.

Trammell, Brown and McDonald, along with Stuart Higginbo continued their season-long domination of the 4x200m Relay, finishing first overall on Saturday.

The other relay group made up of Sam Phillips, Bryce Stevenos, Brandon Brooks and Robert Garvey finished secon in the 4x800m Relay.

Among some of the other standouts for Caesar Rodney was senior Videll Slade who finished second in the Boys High Jump.

On the girls side of things, junior Tyra Reid helped lead the Lady Riders to a fifth place finish.

Reid finished second in the 200m and fourth overall in the 55m. Along with Brianna Cooper, Jennifer Northham and Hope Brown, Reid and the Lady Riders took home first place in the 4x200m Relay.

Reid, Brown and Northham, along with Aleya Cummings also finished fourth in the 4x400m Relay.

Dover Senators

Boys – 2nd Place

The Dover Senators boys squad had a tremendous performance on Saturday, finishing second behind their rival Caesar Rodney.

The Senators were led by senior Jordan Robinson and a large group of contributing underclassman like Raekwon Bouges, Deon Wright and Mykele Sanders.

Sanders placed first in the 55m hurdles while teammates Robinson and Wright finished fifth and sixth. Bouges’ top finish was fourth in the 55m to help pace the Senators.

Wright, Bouges and Sanders, along with Kenneth Dixon finished second overall in the 4x200m Relay. While the trio of Bouges, Sanders and Wright, along with Maleek Bradford finished third in the 4x400 Relay.

Other standouts for Dover included seniors Keron Brown and Zach Dawson who finished third and fourth in the Boys Long Jump. Brown also finished second in the boys Triple Jump.

Lake Forest Spartans

While neither of the Spartans teams was able to finish high in the overall standings, they did have some standouts in several events.

Sophomore John Flamer finished second in the boys Shot Put, while Johnny Crenshaw and Latreil Ridgeway had multiple top-ten finishes for the Spartans.

On the girls side, Tyesha Purnell finished second in the girls High Jump, while Taylor Rosser finished second in the girls Pole Vault.
