  • Two arrested for possesion of heroin in Dover drug bust

  • Police arrested Jamar K. Tate, 31, of Wilmington, and Colby T. Hopkins, 24, of Milton on drug charges on Feb. 8.

  • On Feb. 8 at approximately 6 p.m., police observed a blue Town and Country minivan in the parking lot of the Wendy's, at 1710 North DuPont Highway. Detectives had previously determined that an occupant of the van was distributing heroin.
    Detectives approached the occupants of the van, Jamar K. Tate, 31, of Wilmington, and Colby T. Hopkins, 24, of Milton. Tate was found to have 650 bags of heroin contained in his pants, and $500 in his possession. In the center console of the vehicle, detectives found 130 bags of heroin. Detectives determined that Tate had just sold those bags of heroin to Hopkins.
    Tate was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier five quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier four quantity, delivery of a controlled substance in a tier two quantity with an aggravating factor, conspiracy second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Vaughn Correctional Center on $39,000 cash bail.
    Hopkins was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier three quantity with an aggravating factor, possession of a controlled substance in a tier two quantity with an aggravating factor, conspiracy second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Vaughn Correctional Center on $32,500 cash bail.
