Dover City Council candidates unopposed

The five candidates running for Dover City Council have escaped opposition since the deadline to file papers to run has passed with no opposition surfacing.

The filing deadline for the City of Dover Municipal Election was 4:30 p.m. on Friday, the Dover Office of the City Clerk said.

Following are the names of the candidates who filed for City Council seats:

First District James L. Hutchison

Second District William F. Hare

Third District Sean M. Lynn

Fourth District David L. Anderson

At-Large Timothy A. Slavin

Since all candidates were unopposed, the City of Dover Municipal Election scheduled for April 16, 2013 will not be held. The above candidates will be sworn into office during the Annual City Council Meeting scheduled for May 13, 2013.
