  • George E. Meyers, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.

    George was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Marie (Geiger) and Herman W. Meyers, Sr.

    He had worked in construction. George’s greatest love was his family. He enjoyed gardening, driving his Ford tractor, dancing, traveling, growing plants, flowers and vegetables.

    George was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Marie (Geiger) and Herman W. Meyers, Sr.
    He had worked in construction.  George’s greatest love was his family.  He enjoyed gardening, driving his Ford tractor, dancing, traveling, growing plants, flowers and vegetables.  He also raised Arabian horses for over 30 years and earned a black belt in judo.  He will also be remembered for his great sense of humor.
    George was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Harrington Moose Lodge.
    Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Herman Meyers, Jr, Fred Meyers, Marie Yanke and Ann Moore.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Carolyn Meyers, children Barbara Dyson and her husband Phillip of Laredo, TX, Sharon Densler and her fiancé Scott Hulcher of Camden and George E. Meyers, Jr. of Camden, grandchildren Brian Dyson, Shane Dyson and his spouse Corrie Dyson and Ryan Densler and a great grandchild Myles Kate Dyson, siblings Rose Thompson and her husband Earl, Calvin Meyers and Grace Meyers.
    Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, January 24 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier.  Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
