  • Lady Spartans take down St. Thomas More on the hardwood

  • Lake Forest Junior Roshell Dalton led all scorers with 17 as the Lake Forest Lady Spartans defeated St. Thomas More on Thursday night, 47-37.
    After starting the game flat, scoring only 7 first quarter points, the Lake Forest Spartans would respond with double-digit outputs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters to preserve the win.
    The first half saw a tight game, with both teams making offensive runs throughout the half. Lake Forest and St. Thomas More would enter the locker room at half time tied at 19 apiece.
    In the second half, the Lady Spartans would outscore St. Thomas More 28-18 on their way to their 5th win of the season.
    Along with Dalton's strong game, Quantesha Pitts and Shayna Gourdine both contributed 8 points in the victory.
    Senior Cali Echeverri led the way for the Lady Ravens scoring 12 of her 13 points from beyond the arc. Aneya Taylor and Alexis Petrosky contributed 8 and 7 points respectively.
    At 5-5, Lake Forest returns to the hardwood Saturday afternoon when they travel north to face St. Mark's.
    The loss for St. Thomas More puts the Lady Ravens at 2-6 for the season, they'll be back in action on Monday at Wilmington Christian.
