  • The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. this morning as a State Trooper on patrol in the area of Willow Grove Road and Pickett Road was running radar and clocked a vehicle westbound on Willow Grove Road traveling above the speed limit. As the Trooper turned and caught up to the car, it pulled into a residence off Willow Grove Road and drove behind the house where a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, who was later identified as Nelson E. Powell, exited the vehicle and was immediately apprehended by the Trooper. The smell of alcohol was detected and a DUI investigation was conducted. Powell was subsequently taken into custody and transported back to Troop 3 near Camden.
A computer inquiry into Powell's driver's license revealed he had four previous DUI convictions (08/01/91, 08/14/00, 10/11/06, and 04/20/07).
Powell was charged with the above listed offenses and arraigned. He was released after posting $7003.00 secured bond.
