  • The Delaware State Police is investigating the Monday robbery of a road flagger near Polytech High School in Woodside.
    The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m., Monday Monday morning in the area of Walnut Shade Road west of Millchop Lane, police said. A 21-year-old man was working as a flagger controlling pedestrian and vehicular traffic while road construction was being conducted. The flagger was approached by two men who required an escort to go through the construction zone. 
    As the victim was walking in front of the suspects, they began to assault him causing him to fall to the ground, police said. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim and fled eastbound on Walnut Shade Road and then south on Millchop Lane. 
    The victim did not report any injuries from the altercation, police said.
