  • According to police a two vehicle crash claimed the life of a Magnolia woman yesterday evening.
The crash occurred at 6:34 p.m. as Angela L. Francisco, 38, of Dover, drove her 2006 Nissan 350Z north on South State Street. The Nissan went into a counterclockwise skid while continuing to travel north.
The car crossed into the southbound traffic lane, its passenger's side was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by David L. Martin, 63, of Magnolia.
After the impact, the vehicles traveled south together for approximately seventy-seven feet, coming to a stop on South State Street near Tall Pines Drive, said Police.
Martin was transported to Kent General Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. The passenger in his vehicle, Carol Y. Reppond, 54, of Magnolia, who was not properly restrained, was transported to Kent General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Francisco, who was not properly restrained at the time of the crash, was transported to Kent General Hospital and then flown to Christiana Hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition.
A preliminary investigation suggests alcohol was involved on the part of Francisco, said Police. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours as Troopers investigated and cleared the crash, said Police.
