John Lewis “JC” Caldwell of Dover passed away Sunday December 30, 2012 at Kent General Hospital. He was 66.
Mr. Caldwell was born October 9, 1946 in Dover, Delaware to the late Victor Caldwell and Elizabeth Hunter Caldwell.
He worked in construction for Tilcon for 18 years then Teal for 12 years. Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Sons of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post # 2 in Dover. He enjoyed country music, country dancing, going to Dover Downs but most he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Tommy Caldwell and sister Betty Milton.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years Gertrude Jackson Caldwell of Dover, step son, John Pearson and his wife Cindy of Camden; step daughters, Dawn Powell and her husband Fred of Camden, Brenda Piccolo and her partner Dave Mosley of Milford, Debera Smith of Dover; brothers, Vickie Caldwell of Dover, Freddie Caldwell of Camden and Jimmie Caldwell of Florida; sister, Sandy Caldwell of Florida; niece, Marie Caldwell of Dover; 3 step grandsons and 4 step granddaughters, and one step great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, January 4, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call two hours prior.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
