    GROUP THERAPY ROCKS AT DOVER DOWNS
    Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will hold a New Year's Eve party beginning at 9:30 p.m., featuring R&B band Group Therapy, of Wilmington. Group Therapy recently shared the stage with such national acts as Kool and The Gang and Average White Band.
    Guests can also expect delicious hors d'oeuvres (9-11 p.m.) and light snacks (11 p.m. to 1 a.m.). The event will include champagne, party favors and a cash bar with New Year's themed cocktails.

    While waiting for the ball to drop, enjoy fresh tunes spun by DJ Karl at SportZone in Smyrna, beginning at 9 p.m. And enjoy some tasty eats like mozzarella sticks and/or ribs, and a cold drink, since SportZone's kitchen will be open until close. Bubbly and party favors will also be available.

    Sheridan's Irish Pub in Smyrna will host a live performance by acoustic duo Benny & Hill at 7 p.m., followed by a dance party with DJ Jay at 9 p.m. The kitchen will be open all night, so feel free to get your grub on with traditional Irish dishes like shepherd's pie and fish 'n ships to pub staples like burgers and buffalo wings. Don't forget to make room in your tummy for champagne at midnight.

    Turn New Year's Eve into a short getaway with an overnight stay at The Brick Hotel, Restaurant and Tavern on The Circle. Located right in the center of Georgetown, the 177 year old structure has served as hotel, county courthouse and even post office and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
    Currently owned by Lynn Lester and her husband, The Brick is always bustling with locals and travelers who appreciate the cozy comforts of by-gone eras, phenomenal food and stellar service.

    Right now, there's a $175 package that includes a stay in a queen or king room, a welcome bottle of champagne or the house wine and a $25 gift card towards your NYE meal. Or, skip the stay and just take advantage of the four-course prix fixe meal. For $55 per person, enjoy a meal that includes shrimp bisque, clams casino and filet mignon with lobster tail or a light salad, cream of crab soup and herb-roasted leg of lamb. Is a dessert included? Of course. The chef will have a delectable selection of scrumptious and sinful delights.
    The night's entertainment will start at 6 p.m. with dinner music by Fonsie Scott. Then, ring in the new year with Cathy Gorman from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. But, don't leave the party early. The big moment of the night is the Moose Drop, which features a large moose that gets lowered into a drinker's dream martini glass.
    With a $10 cover charge, guests can also just come for the late night entertainment and enjoy the separate a la carte menu items. However, the rooms and dinner seats fill up quickly, so reservations are strongly encouraged.

    If you prefer classic show tunes and big band music, then Rehoboth Beach's Clear Space Theatre is the place to be. Things get started at 9 p.m., when the talented CST vocalists take the stage, serenading the audience with a selection of unforgettable showtunes. Afterwards, dance right into the New Year with a live swing band, led by CST's artistic director Doug Yetter.
    Enjoy hors d'oeuvres all evening as well as a bevy of unbelievable desserts. Then, at midnight, join in the champagne toast. Tickets and information is available at www.clearspacetheatre.org.
    However, if the long drive to the beach seems a bit daunting, keep in mind that the theater is located in the heart of Rehoboth Beach, quite close to all the best restaurants and hotels.
