  • Carolyn L Carney of Cheswold went to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Christiana Hospital. She was 62.
    Carolyn was born July 20, 1950, to the late James E. and Dorothy (Seeney) Mosley Sr.
    She retired from the State of Delaware of which she worked over 20 years. Carolyn loved her family dearly. She loved spending time with her grandkids, family gatherings which included back-yard barbeques, family dinners and family special occasions, where she was known to prepare her special sweet tea and macaroni salad. She also loved seafood. She loved to dance and was a frequent shopper of QVC.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Wanda L. Carney, who died in Jan. of 2011; and her brother, George “Porky” Mosley Sr. in Oct. of 2012.
    Carolyn is survived by her husband of 46 years of marriage Sam L. Carney Sr.; her son Andy Carney Jr. and his wife Pam of Magnolia; two granddaughters, Ashley and Kristen Carney; four grandsons; Nicholas Sutton, Robert Vandetti, Kaden and Drew Carney; a great-granddaughter; Kasey Wright; a brother James “Brother” E. Mosley Jr. and his wife Sherren(special sister) of Cheswold; sister-in-law Wanda Jean Mosley and eight other sister-in-laws; seven brother-in-laws; two special god- daughters Shadina Jones and Charon Durham of Dover; a special nephew Matthew Sammons of Dover; two special nieces Lisa and Tammy Mosley of Cheswold; a special (sister) Marsha Kosek of Dover; a special cousin Sissy Seeney of Cheswold; a host of Uncles, Aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and James F. and Connie Johnson Sr. and their family of which she was like a daughter and sister.
    Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, where friends may call one hour prior at Torbert Funeral Chapel, South 1145 E. Lebanon Road (RT 10), Dover. Friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 9. Interment will be at Immanuel Methodist Church Cemetery, Cheswold.
