  • James Worth Carr, 90, of Magnolia, formerly of Dover, passed away Friday November 30, 2012 at Capital Healthcare Center Dover.
    He was born on November 15, 1922 in Mill Creek, WV. He was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Marvin Homer Carr and Dessie Mae Rodgers Carr.
    Jim proudly served in the United Stats Army during World War I I. Following the war, he attended West Virginia University, gradating with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Sciences. He retired from the Federal Government after more than 30 years, having worked for both the Division of Fish and Wildlife and Federal Highway Administration. After retirement, he began a second successful career in real estate and consulting for the Delaware Department of Transportation. While he was able, Jim was actively involved in his church, Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover. He was passionate about farming and maintained a small farm in addition to his other careers. He was an avid reader and lively storyteller, who will be sadly missed by family and friends.
    Jim was devoted to his family, and is survived by his beloved Wife of 52 years, Elsie Elaine Folks Carr of Magnolia, DE.  Seven children and spouse's: Sons, David (Mary) Carr and Michael Carr both of St. Croix, USVI, Daughters, Deborah (Marc) St. Jean of Magnolia, DE., Elizabeth Karmazyn of Hurlock, MD., Rebecca (Douglas) Durney of Dover, DE., Deanne (Ryan) Harrison of Preston, MD., Denise (Joseph) Todd of College Station, TX.  
    Additionally, he is survived by thirteen grandchildren and spouse's: John (Amy) Oliver  James (Sheena) Oliver, Tina St. Jean, Jenny St. Jean, Stephanie (Roland) Palimere, Hanna Karmazyn  Alyssa Durney, Lauren Barrett, Chelsea Barrett, Carson Todd, Asher Todd,  Maegan Todd.  and nine great grand children.
    Remembrance Services will be held Wed. 12/05/2012 11 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church 209 South State Street in Dover, DE Interment will be at the Lake Side Cemetery immediately following the service.  
    A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday 12/04/2012 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Trader Funeral Home 12 Lotus Street in Dover.
