  • Lillian V. Saunders of Camden went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday November 21, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was 83.
    Mrs. Saunders was born May 1, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Iway Custalow and Clara Zane Custalow.
    She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in her family. She spent many wonderful hours with her daughters and grandsons, who she doted on. Prior to her illness she was an avid reader, gardener and volunteer. Mrs. Saunders was a member of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Dover and belonged to the Golden Star Wives Club, Holly Bush Chapter, and the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.
    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Saunders, brothers, Clement Matera and Dallas Custalow and sister Grace Peters.
    She is survived by her daughters, Dallene Lively and her husband Rick of Pennsgrove, NJ, Jo Martin of Camden, DE, Judy Tate - Lynn of Olathe, KS and Terri Webb and her husband Chip of Wyoming, DE; Sister, Alice Custalow of Richmond, VA; sister, in law, Maxine Matera; grandsons, Jody Huges, Rick Maynard, Matt and Jeff Martin, Josh and Alyc Tate and Bryce Webb, Erica Kohout and Ryan Webb; great granddaughters, Tyla Marie and Bristol Starr Martin.
    Graveside services will be held 11AM, Tuesday November 27, 2012 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
    In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Arc of Salam County, New Jersey, 150 Salem – Woodstown Road, PO Box 5, Salem, NJ 08079.
