  • James Anthony Baione, Jr., 73, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James Anthony Baione, Sr., Esther Jennie Defazio Baione MacMahon and Edward MacMahon.
    He was a US Marine Corps veteran and a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and NAPBIRT Instrument Repair Technicians.  He was a Music Educator for 30 years for Florence HS in NJ, Gateway Regional HS in NJ and Delmar Jr/Sr HS in Delmar, DE.  After retiring in 1992, he taught at UMES from 2001-2003.  He and his wife have owned and operated Royal Clef Music, Inc. since 1983.  
    He loved performing with his family and was the leader of JB Express for 15 years performing throughout the Eastern Shore, Pennsylvania and Baltimore County.  He was well known as a clarinetist and saxophonist.  He is known throughout the community as a caring and accomplished private teacher and instrument repairman.  He and his brother Leonard also co-wrote “The Evangelist” a musical play.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Ann Slaski Baione; 3 sons, James Arthur Baione and his wife, Colleen of Palmerton, PA, Thomas Edward Baione and his wife, Diane of Pittsville, MD and Joseph Noah Baione and his wife, Paige of Felton, DE; his father-in-law Arthur Slaski of Bethlehem, PA; 12 grandchildren, Linsey, Hunter, Kyle, Daniel, Konnie, Katrina, Kimberly, Jacob, Kandy, Scott, Alexis and Stephen; and 8 great grandchildren, Amirah, Jahleah, Griffin, Halie, Elizabeth, Tyler, Brittany and Kaleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Anthony Baione, Nicholas Baione and Leonard Baione; and a grandson, Kevin Austin.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 9th, 2012 at 11:00 am at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at the Eastern Shore Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, MD.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the James A. Baione Music Scholarship Fund at Delaware Charitable Music, Inc. 180 Fire Box Dr. Felton, De 19943.
