The First State Community Action Agency will celebrate 47 years of service with a dinner and recognition ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover.
The event will honor major champions of the agency whose service and support has helped the non-profit bring programs of relief and hope to individuals, families, and communities affected by poverty. The evening will feature musical entertainment by Shades of Blue and keynote speaker, Dr. Robert E. Johnson, president of Becker College in Worcester, Mass.
Tickets are $75; guests must R.S.V.P. by Nov. 9. The proceeds will benefit anti-poverty programs to help low-income Delawareans become self-sufficient. For more information, call (302) 856-7761.
