John H. Willson of Dover died Thursday October 11, 2012 at home. He was 66.
Mr. Willson was born February 26, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Joseph D. Willson and Wanda A Imblum Willson Costantini.
He started working as a paramedic with Dover Ambulance in 1973 and continued working as a Paramedic with Kent County Public Safety until retiring as Deputy Chief in 2010. Mr. Willson was a life member of Dover Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chief from 1986 through 1988.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katelyn McDevitt.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Smith Willson of Dover; son, J. Michael Willson and his wife Kimberly of Magnolia; daughter, Stacy McDevitt and her husband Michael of Clayton; one brother and five sisters; grandchildren, Madelyn and Harper Willson.
Friends may call from 6-8pm Monday, October 15, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 or Dover Volunteer Fire Department, 103 S. Governors Avenue, Dover, DE 19904.
