A 44-year-old man was found dead Thursday morning of an apparent suicide by hanging in a wooded area, Dover Police said.
Dover Police are investigating the apparent suicide by hanging of a 44-year-old man found dead Thursday morning in the wooded area just south of Capitol Homes on Bay Road.
The victim, Thomas W. Myers, was a resident at Morris Community Correctional Center, Dover Police Capt. Tim Stump said. Myers was on an approved pass on Wednesday, Oct. 3 with a return time of 3 p.m.
When Myers failed to return, he was deemed a walk-away and correction officials obtained warrants for his arrest, Stump said. A search was initiated by the Delaware Department of Corrections and officials from that state agency subsequently located the victim in the woods, he said.
