  • A 22-year-old Camden woman employed at the Milford Diner is accused of stealing money from a customer's purse earlier this month.
Britney Whitby was working at the diner on North Walnut Street on Sept. 19 when she removed an undisclosed amount of money from the 28-year-old woman's purse, according to Milford Police Department spokesman Detective Dwight Young.
Following an investigation by police, Whitby reportedly was arrested Sept. 25 and charged with theft, he said.
Young said Whitby also was wanted on multiple warrants in unrelated cases.
She is being held at the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in New Castle on an undisclosed secured bond, he said.
A person who answered the phone at the Milford Diner on Friday said Whitby is no longer employed at the restaurant.
