  • The Delaware SPCA says it spayed or neutered more than 1,000 cats and more than 100 pit bulls through its programs this summer.
"Primp your Pit" spays or neuters the dogs for $20 and "Cat Days of Summer" takes care of felines for $25 and also includes a free rabies vaccination.
The organization says more than eight million homeless pets enter U.S. shelters every year and Delaware SPCA's programs help curb the problem. For more information, visit www.delspca.org.
