James Cooke sentenced to death for Bonistall murder

James Cooke was sentenced to death on Monday for the May 2005 murder of University of Delaware student Lindsey Bonistall.

In April this year, a New Castle County Jury found Cooke guilty of first degree murder, rape, burglary, and arson involving Lindsey's death.

Bonistall was found raped and strangled in her off-campus apartment. Cooke then set fire to items in her home. Police say he was trying to destroy evidence.
