  • James Cooke was sentenced to death on Monday for the May 2005 murder of University of Delaware student Lindsey Bonistall.

In April this year, a New Castle County Jury found Cooke guilty of first degree murder, rape, burglary, and arson involving Lindsey's death.
Bonistall was found raped and strangled in her off-campus apartment. Cooke then set fire to items in her home. Police say he was trying to destroy evidence.
