  • More than 200 airmen from the Delaware Air National Guard's 166th Airlift Wing began several days of training when they deployed this past weekend from New Castle to the training center in Alpena, Mich.
    The airmen departed on Aug. 3 and are expected to return home in two groups on Aug. 8 and 9.
    The airmen will train in an Air Force operational readiness exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to push the airmen's ability to survive and operate while performing in a simulated combat environment.
