  • Dorothy H. List passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 in Kent General hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.
    Dorothy was born on May 25, 1929 in Cheswold, Delaware, last of three children to the late Joseph and Mabel (Melvin) Hartnett.
    She worked for Playtex for 19 years.  Later she took a position with the Department of Motor Vehicle where she retired after 22 years and was affectionately known as “Hot Dot.”
    Dorothy was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge.  She enjoyed volunteering at Harvest Years Center, playing bingo and canning.
    She is preceded in death by her husband Paul “Babe” List, Jr. in 2002.
    Dorothy is survived by a daughter Carol List and her companion Jim Silvestri of Georgetown and a son Kevin List and his wife Robin of Felton, four grandchildren Kristi Hopkins of Lincoln, Ashlee Hopkins of Georgetown, Courtney List and Jonathan List both of Felton, two great grandchildren Zoie Gray and Baylee Gray both of Lincoln.
    Visitation will be 7-9 Wednesday, August 8 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
    Service will be 11:00 Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
    In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Easter Seals Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore, Corporate Headquarters, 61 Corporate Circle, New Castle, DE 19720-2439.
