James E. Bracy, 81, was called to walk amongst the angels on August 4, 2012; shrouded in the love and comfort of his family. He was born August 22, 1930.
James is formerly of Levittown, PA, and was a true man's man. He especially enjoyed whiling away the time with his grandchildren, and cheering the Eagles. He loved spending time outside with his roses, fishing, and golfing. He worked as a mechanic, a truck driver, and owned several bars in Philadelphia before retiring from Waste Management Inc. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a proud member of the Masons, the Teamsters Local 107, and was a Shop Steward for Teamsters Local 115.
James is preceded in passing by his parents, Berth Sloan, and Julius Bracy; his siblings Julius, William (Tiny), and Catherine Williams in addition to 3 newborn Blackwell grandchildren, and his first wife, Mary.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 44 years, Rhoda Goddard Bracy, and his eight children, Jacqueline Jones, James (Elenor), Mary Ogborn (Steven), Tony (Terry), Michael (Barbara), Angel Miller (Michael), Ramona (Wayne), and Rochelle (Lori). He also leaves, with adoring memories, 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as a plethora of extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 11th at Holy Cross Church in Dover at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Holy Cross Church, 631 State Street, Dover, DE or a charity of your choice.
