  • Jazmyne Hefflefinger, the 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Woman-of- the-Year, was a guest of honor at the annual MEAC football kick-off luncheon at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel on Friday, July 20.
    Hefflefinger, a four- year member of the Delaware State University bowling team, earned an undergraduate degree last month with a 4.0 grade-point-average in movement science with a concentration in pre-health.
    The award, selected annually by MEAC senior woman administrators, celebrates the achievements of female senior student-athletes who have excelled in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
    She is the second Delaware State University student-athlete to earn the MEAC Women-of-the-Year award, joining former teammate Kalyn Washburn who was the 2010 honoree.
