  • League head coaches and sports information representatives don’t give Delaware State University much of a chance to win the 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) football championship.
    The Hornets were picked to finish 10th in this year’s MEAC in the poll announced during the conference’s annual kick-off luncheon at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel on July 20.
    2012 MEAC football pre-season predicted order of finish
    (first place votes in parenthesis):
    1. Norfolk State (11) 454 points
    2. So. Carolina State (4) 432
    3. Bethune-Cookman (3) 417
    4. Florida A&M (2) 354
    5. Hampton (1) 268
    6. No. Carolina A&T 216
    7. Morgan State 198
    8. Howard 188
    9. No. Carolina Central 116
