  • Forrest "Bill" William Snelling of Hartly, Delaware died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his home.


    He was 87 and was born in Garden City on the farm in Kansas to the late Oscar and Nell Phillips Snelling, on April 19, 1925.

  • Forrest "Bill" William Snelling of Hartly, Delaware died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his home.
    He was 87 and was born in Garden City on the farm in Kansas to the late Oscar and Nell Phillips Snelling, on April 19, 1925.
    Mr. Snelling attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel, Maryland.
    He was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Air Force serving during WW II and Vietnam. Later he worked for the State of Delaware in the Traffic Division.
    He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Doris Mae Wright Snelling in 1998, a daughter Dale Sampson Levin, grandson Michael Todd Deering, brothers Jack Snelling and Glen Snelling, and a sister Muriel Snelling.
    He is survived by his son George R. Deering and his wife Cheryl of Camden; his son-in-law Eliot Levin; grandsonn Mathew Levin; his granddaughter Megan and her husband, Sean Byron.
    Friends may call on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 11 am to 12 noon.
    Funeral services will be held at 12 noon in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, Delaware.
    Burial will be held in the Garden of Honor/Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
    In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be given to your local USO.
