Edith M. "Smokey" Bialecki, age 76, resident of Pulaski, passed away Friday at her home. She resided in Pulaski since 2000, and previously lived in Dover, Delaware for 34 years. Smokey was born June 12, 1936 in Utica, the daughter of Leslie and Alida Sylvester Haines. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1954. Smokey married Bernard J. Bialecki Sr. on June 16, 1987. She was employed by the Department of Defense at Dover Air Force Base at Dover, Delaware for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
Surviving, her husband, Bernard J. Bialecki Sr., one daughter, Debra Butler of Orwell, two step-sons, Bernard J. Bialecki Jr., of Wilmington, DE and Newell B. Everett III of New Holland, PA, one brother, Leslie (Pat) Haines of Orwell, one sister, Shirley (Doug) Henry of Orwell, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Donations, in Smokey's memory, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
