Julia L. Hynson of Dover, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at State Street Assisted Living after a brief illness.
She was born on October 20, 1918 in Denton, Md., the daughter of Elwood and Helen Lane.
Julia spent most of her life in Dover and was active in many community organizations and clubs, including Kiwanis Ki-Wives and Wesley Methodist Church. Her profiessional career included many years at Coty, Inc. and Pfister Insurance Agency until her retirement.
Julia could be seen on any given day doing what she loved…….walking throught the streets of downtown Dover for her daily exercise. In 2008, Julia made the adjustment to her new home at State Street Assisted Living and grew to enjoy her new environment and new life and friends there. A special thank you is extended to Mary Jane and all who helped to care for and add to her life while there.
She is survived by her brother, Winfield Lane of Wilmington; sister in law, Ann Hynson of Vero Beach, Fla. And several nieces and many devoted friends over the years.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 Dupont Blvd, Millsboro, DE 19966.
