  • C. William “Bill” Payk,  passed away May 1, 2012.  He was 88.
    Bill was born on April 27, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana, son of the late Charles and Nettie (Bolton) Payk.
    He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and then onto Dover Air Force Base until 1970 retiring after 20 years.  He also worked as a realtor.
    Bill was a member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Camden and the Dover Elks Lodge, YMCA, and Library Advisory Committee.
    He was an avid golfer and was active in the Elks Charity Golf Tournament.
    Bill is preceded in death by his wife Marceil Payk in 2008, a brother Edward Payk and two sisters Eva Orlowski and Monnie Kriel.
    He is survived by a daughter Carolyn Payk of Dover, a son Michael Wayne Payk of Dover, three sisters Grace Melvin of Camby, IN, Mary Storms of Indianapolis, IN and Lucille Cox of Indianapolis, IN.
    A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 at the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden.  A fellowship will follow at the Dover Elks Lodge, 200 Saulsbury Rd., Dover.
    In lieu of flowers, the requests donations to the Dover Public Library or the American Cancer Society.
