Marianne was born December 2, 1924 to the late Mayde and Robert Joss in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada at home. She was the eldest of 3 children, sister Bette Elizabeth (deceased) and brother Robert Alexander.
Following her father's death in 1929 it was decided to move the family to Louisville, Kentucky and her uncle came and took her so she could begin the school year there in Sept. The rest of the family soon followed. In 1933 her grandparents and family moved for a short period to Indianapolis, Ind and then in 1936 they all moved to Fort Wayne, Ind. where she completed school.
She met the love of her life, Joe, thru a neighbor on a blind date. They were wed Dec 29, 1945 and enjoyed 64 years of wedded bliss until Joe's passing in 2010. She spent the next 27 years being an Air Force wife and mother of 7 children. She was very involved in her children's activities thru the years. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, a superb cook and a great gardener.
She and her husband bought a home in Dover upon his retirement from the USAF in 1972. She took a part time job at the Stable Shoppes (Blue Coat Inn) and retired from this after 25 years. She became very involved in the Junior Board at Kent General, holding several positions, and chaired fund raising events. She remained active until her death.
