  • Clifford F. George of Dover died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at home.  He was 54.


    Mr. George was born April 6, 1958 in Camden, New Jersey.

  • Clifford F. George of Dover died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at home.  He was 54.
    Mr. George was born April 6, 1958 in Camden, New Jersey.
     He served in the United States Air Force active and reserve for 30 years retiring July 23, 2011 as a Master Sergeant.  Along with his military service he worked as an accountant during tax season and in construction.  He was proud of the role he played in the restoration and maintenance of the Delta King Riverboat in Sacramento, CA.  Mr. George also enjoyed golf, softball, fishing, and BBQing.  Mr. George had several titles, C-5 Load Master & instructor, dad, step-dad, uncle, husband, brother, but his favorite was Papa Cliff.
    Mr. George is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Fred Reed of Milton; his wife of 4 ½ years, Cathy Miller George of Dover; children, Denae Spiering and her husband Greg of Greensboro, MD, Mark O’Day and his wife Tessie of Lawton, OK, Ashley Watson and her husband Jeremy of Felton, John Link of Philadelphia, PA, Michael Link of Wilmington, Noah Link of Dover, Hala Link of Dover; brothers, Billy George of Riverside, NJ, Mike George and his wife Donna of Tazwell, VA; sisters, Darlene Kennedy of Felton, Cindy Collier and her husband Don of Camden, DE, Jane Garver of Kennedyville, MD; grandchildren, Noah and Colbi Jeffers, Mackenzie, Zachary, Lily, Josephine and Decklan Watson.  Mr. George has many nieces and nephews, who will miss him terribly, but played a very special role in Novah Miller’s life.  She, along with everyone in his family, will miss him very much.
    Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday June 9, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover.  Friends may call from 11-1, memorial to follow.
