William Jameson Vanderbilt (Glenn David Austin) of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Dover, died April 14, 2012. He was 57.
Born May 8, 1954 in Dover Delaware to the late Harold Carlisle Austin and Sarah Kathryn Willis Austin, he is survived by his sister Janet Cappello of Bethlehem, Pa., dear friend, Sarah Ely of Pompano Beach, Fla., William and Betty Willis, of Dover, and cousins Pat Hayes, Judy Gregg,, Jack Harper, Marge Middlebrook, Roxanne Sunde, and Warren Austin.
He enjoyed a broadcast career in radio both in Dover and in Nashville, TN, where he became the manager for Grand Ole Opry Hall of Fame member Whispering Bill Anderson. He also spent time serving Delaware as Deputy to the State Auditor.
A graveside celebration will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday June 2, 2012 at Lakeside Cemetery, 558 N. State Street, Dover.
