Hilda Delores Giddens departed this life Thursday, May 17th, 2012, surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness. Hilda was born in Barclay, Maryland January 31st, 1929 to Ruth M. Cain. She was 83 years old.
Hilda received her education at Kennard High School in Centerville, Maryland. She worked hard most of her life and enjoyed being with her family and close friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Giddens; her mother, Ruth M. Cain, her sons, John Berry, and William Berry; a brother James Cain Sr., a sister Lucille Caldwell, and her granddaughter, Octavia Winchester.
Hilda leaves to cherish her memories four daughters; Delores Marion Winchester Berry, Audrey and Kenny Smith of Felton, Eunice and Noah Piper of Milton, DE, Clara Berry of Felton, three sons Ronald and Ann Berry of Dover, Wayne Berry of Smyrna, Terriane and Melissa Giddens of Felton. She also leaves behind a stepson Charles Giddens of Mays Landing, New Jersey; two sisters, Mary Louise Scott of Felton, Ruth and Orville Sudler of Wyoming, DE, two brothers, William Cain Jr., and Albert Cain Sr. of Felton, 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A viewing for Hilda will be held on Saturday, May 26 at the Bread of Life Church located at 107 Broad Street, Wyoming, DE from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services following at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Mt.
