Both the St. Thomas More baseball and softball teams defeated Salisbury Christian on Friday afternoon.

 

Baseball: St. Thomas More 4 Salisbury Christian 2

The Ravens defeated Salisbury Christian on the baseball diamond Friday afternoon 4-2. Brian Spangler pitched a complete game, giving up only 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 9. Spangler also went 2-2 with an RBI at the plate.

Rourke Bonnell went 2-3 including 2 RBI for the Ravens in the win.

The boys stand at 8-6 on the year with three games remaining. They'll take on Smyrna, Sanford and Laurel next week to finish out their schedule.

 

Softball: St. Thomas More 6 Salisbury Christian 5

The Lady Ravens defeated Salisbury Christian on Friday afternoon in come-from-behind fashion.

St. Thomas More took a 4-2 lead into the top of the 7th and final inning only to see Salisbury Christian take the lead scoring 3 runs in the inning.

After a Rebecca Shipper single in the bottom of the 7th, Olivia Smith dropped down a bunt for a base hit which moved Shipper to 3rd base. Up next for the Ravens was Liz Biddle who was intentionally walked. Sierra Hadick was then hit by a pitch to force in the tying run. The game was in Samantha Fellner's hands next, and she delivered a single which scored Biddle for the win.

The Lady Ravens record now stands at 11-4 with three games remaining. The Ravens will finish up their schedule next week against St. Elizabeth, Lake Forest and Dover.
