Donnell Hill, 33, of Milford, died Tuesday as a result of injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident, said Dover Police Capt. Tim Stump.
At approximately 9 p.m. Monday, Dover Police attempted to stop four motorcycles near the Dover Post Office on Loockerman Street in Dover, Stump said.
One of the motorcycles stopped at the red light at Loockerman and Route 13, while other three failed to stop and eluded police. Two of them ran the red light at the highway and continued eastbound on East Loockerman Street, police said. The officers did not pursue them.
Moments later, residents from the 800 block of E. Loockerman St. called 911 for a collision involving the two motorcycles.
The callers reported one of the operators fled the scene on foot through rear yards and has not been apprehended, Stump said. The other operator, Hill, who had crashed into the side of a residence, was transported to Bayhealth-Kent General, where he died the next day.
The occupants of the residence were not injured.
