Darrell proudly served in the United States Air Force, eventually retiring as SMSgt.  After his time in the military, he found work as a Chief System Engineer at ILC.

Darrell was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved deer hunting and tending his vegetable garden. Darrell was also adept with his hands, and wood was his specialty.  He happily made many pieces of furniture for himself, and his family.  Darrell loved to travel, spend his time reading, working with computers, and skydiving; actually working as a test parachutist for the military at one time.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathleen Wilson, son, Army Sgt. Jeff Wilson and his wife Melissa of Fort Campbell, KY; daughter, Christy L. Wilson of Dover; grandchildren Kayla, Madison, Christian Wilson; Tyler and Vincent Casarotto, a brother, David Wilson of Kelso, WA; brother-in-law, Terry Booth and his wife Margie and his beloved pal, his Chocolate Lab, Kodi.

Services were held on Friday, March 30, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends gathered one hour earlier.  Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
