Lydia M. Rainville of Asbury, West Virginia, formerly of Marydel, DE, died Monday, March 12, 2012. Lydia was born on July 5, 1919 in Naugatuck, Conneticut, daughter of the late Michael Uraska and Eva (Tunikat) Uraska.


Lydia M. Rainville of Asbury, West Virginia, formerly of Marydel, DE, died Monday, March 12, 2012. Lydia was born on July 5, 1919 in Naugatuck, Conneticut, daughter of the late Michael Uraska and Eva (Tunikat) Uraska.

Lydia attended Bee Bee Elementary School, Salem Jr. High School and Naugatuck High School. She was employed by the Risdon Mfg. Co. When WWII began her job within the company was changed to inspection of ammunition magazines for our troops.

In 1945 she married Howard F. Rainville. They moved to Henderson, MD. They both worked for Playtex and later retired to Marydel, DE. They were married 56 years when Howard preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Uraska, a sister Lillian Abate and grandson Tyler Rainville.

She is survived by a sister, Emma Radwick of Conneticut, her children Patricia Collison and husband Andrew of Asbury, West Virginia, with whom she lived, Roger R. Rainville of LaJolla, California and Marilyn Walsh and husband Tom of Montgomery, New York. Also three grandchildren, Sean Walsh, Mike Collison & wife Shelly and Amy Reed & husband Larry. Four great-grandchildren, Brad, Justin & Eric Collison and Brian Salgado and an expected great-granchild in September whom she was so excited about.

A memorial service will be held at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE on Saturday, March 24 at 1 .m. where a gathering will be one hour before services.    

Howard & Lydia will be laid to rest in the Rainville family plot at the Denton, MD cemetery.
