The group specializes in original Americana. Basically, Runaway Train’s sound is a blend of rock and country, with a little bluegrass, honky tonk, pop country and surf rock thrown in. Bringing that sound to life are musicians Jim Marsilii on bass; Bobbi Fisher on guitar and vocals; John Corrigan on mandolin, vocals and guitar; Jim Rezac on guitar, banjo, fiddle and vocals; and Ossi Becke on drums.

Still not sure what to make of the group’s sound? Check them out on Facebook, or take into consideration their influences: Sugarland, Dixie Chicks, Avett Brothers, Mother Truckers, Lady Antebellum, Hank Williams and the Little Willies.

While Runaway Train might throw in some cover songs, they specialize in original music. Their clever lyrics and creative arrangements should please a wide range of listeners.

Support local music by turning out to see them perform live. There’s also no cover, which makes for an inexpensive night of entertainment.
